University of Nevada, Reno — Mathewson Gateway

From Liability to Landmark.
For years, the University of Nevada, Reno had been assembling land between campus and downtown, waiting for the right moment and the right partner to help activate it.
At the same time, the College of Business, the university's largest and fastest-growing program, had outgrown its home and needed a facility worthy of its ambitions. Donald and the Edgemoor team responded with a vision that paired a world-class academic building with a university hotel, transforming the most prominent block on campus into a gateway connecting the university to the city.
From the day the university identified the need to the day they broke ground, one year had passed. The university had estimated that phase alone would take three to five years.
