PROJECT OVERVIEW
Campus Expansion with Urban Activation.
The University of Nevada, Reno envisioned a new gateway district to bridge the campus with downtown as a vibrant hub for learning, innovation, and community connection. In practice, traditional delivery methods couldn’t meet the university’s budget or schedule requirements.
Edgemoor stepped in with a creative public-private partnership, delivering the university’s new College of Business as the district’s cornerstone and setting the stage for future mixed-use development. By integrating academic and private uses, including plans for a hotel and public spaces, we helped activate the edge of campus and bring new life to Reno’s urban core.
The project shows how coordinated planning can strengthen a university’s mission, expand its impact, and deepen the bond between a campus and its city.

It’s easy to be a partner when things are going well, but as the inevitable challenges in a project this size arise, I continually find Edgemoor ready and willing to roll up their sleeves and help navigate our way through. As someone who was fortunate enough to be engaged in the project from the very beginning, I can safely say that without Edgemoor this project would not have moved forward as efficiently and effectively as it has.”
