PROJECT OVERVIEW
Investing in the Future of the Region.
At George Mason University, innovation wasn’t just a goal — it was a promise to the region’s future to meet the talent needs that resulted from Amazon’s HQ2 move. Northern Virginia was emerging as one of the nation’s leading tech corridors, and the university needed a space where education, research, and industry could work side-by-side.
At the heart of Arlington’s Rosslyn-Ballston corridor, we helped bring that vision to life through Fuse at Mason Square — a 345,000-square-foot hub designed to spark collaboration between students, researchers, and private enterprise. Delivered in partnership with the university, Fuse serves as a bridge between academia and industry, and is home to state-of-the-art labs for robotics, cybersecurity, and data visualization.
More than a building, Fuse represents what’s possible when education and innovation share the same address, creating a space where ideas grow, industries evolve, and Virginia’s next generation of entrepreneurs are born. Fuse also serves as a model for sustainability as a LEED Platinum, smart, and net-zero energy building.

Fuse at Mason Square is a building that will change everything about the nature of this campus and how it serves the community... we are not just breaking ground on a building—we are truly breaking ground on Virginia’s future.”
- Dr. Gregory Washington, President, George Mason University
