Elevating a University’s National Profile.

Augustana University set out to grow into a larger national presence, and identified Division I athletics as the way to get there. Hockey made the most sense for the university and the region. But entering a Division I league required facilities that matched the level of play, and Augustana needed to build them quickly.

Midco Arena was the answer. When Augustana set out to build one of the largest projects in its history, the university turned to Edgemoor to guide the full development effort. From early planning and coordination through design management, fundraising support, and commissioning, we provided steady leadership at every step.

The result is a world-class, 3,000-seat arena designed to elevate the student-athlete experience and serve as a cornerstone for Augustana's continued expansion.

Since opening in January 2024, Midco Arena has become much more than the home of Augustana's hockey program. The 154,000 square foot facility houses the university's athletics administration, the GreatLIFE Strength and Conditioning Center, sports medicine and hydrotherapy spaces, classrooms, and dedicated team suites for both the men's hockey and women's soccer programs. It also made possible the launch of Augustana's men's and women's club hockey programs in 2024, expanding access to the sport for more students and helping anchor the university's growing athletic district for years to come.
